As many of you know, Propstore has been a sponsor of the RPF (who we also run) for nearly 15 years. Also, some of you may not know that I have been serving as the Director of Propstore's Consignments Department for the past five years. Research has always been a significant aspect of Propstore's focus and we are currently expanding our research department, seeking a Consignments Research Jr. Analyst.
Before I post the information about the job, there are two aspects that a potential candidate must meet.
1) This is a full-time Los Angeles-based position that needs to report daily to our Valencia office. This is not a WFH or Remote position. We need you here, with your hands on the props!
2) You must be an extremely analytical individual, with extensive experience (does not have to be professional experience) in the prop/costume world.
If you can't meet points 1 and 2, this job isn't for you. If you can, read on!
Consignments Research Jr. Analyst
OVERVIEW The Consignments Team serves as the principal channel through which products are sourced for our Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auctions. Our mandate is twofold: (1) curate exceptional, high-quality offerings for prospective buyers, and (2) assist consignors in achieving the greatest possible return on their assets. This process includes the verification of authenticity and the identification of value-enhancing attributes—such as screen-matching, verified provenance, or restored functionality—that can materially increase buyer interest and final sale price. By consistently executing these functions, the Consignments Team safeguards the company’s financial performance and upholds the integrity and credibility of our brand.
Our Consignments Jr. Analyst performs administrative tasks related to the life cycle of consignments. This position reports to the Consignment Research Supervisor and may interface with any employee within Propstore and with external customers.
Only candidates with proven, advanced analytical and investigative abilities—comparable to those of a research scientist or professional investigator—will be considered. Further, experience in production-related material handling, material identification, manufacturing methodologies, electronic/mechanical repair, and high-detail of record keeping are non-negotiable.
LOCATION This warehouse-based position requires daily reporting to our warehouse in Valencia, CA.
POSITION This is a non-exempt, full-time position.
