Ok so I have encountered a few issues with the second half of this, namely the jet pack harness I made from a template don't seem to fit under the Boba Maker back armor, it sticks out to much at the top forcing the plate to come away from my back, maybe with a few adjustments I can make it work but I haven't really looked into it yet...
What I have been doing is stitching.......lots and lots of stitching.... My Girlfriend bless her heart has been helping attaching snaps to the flak for me well I take care of everything else, its nice to have a partner that supports your dreams so Valentines day will be a banger for sure
To the pictures....
Simple one to start with, I need to run the power supply from range finder to the gauntlet,

A simple eyelet with the wire sewn in on the inside..

The chest plates will have rare earth neo magnets, velcro and snaps....no way this will be coming off, the neo magnets I am using will hold well over 15lbs each, the are used to hold open windows :wacko so they are silly strong.... I like that.

My main focus is to get the hose attached to the under sleeve on the right arm.... now I know full well the issue with the pipes bunching up and pushing the sleeve out making the whole arm look silly when you bent it....I think I have solved the issue.
these images are not the final product the are just proof of concept (Am covering the fact the stitching is horrid)
I see a lot of people using clips to hold the pipes on and it makes it easy when you want to take it off, one of the issues I find with this is a lot of pulling on one spot and almost tears your head off when you bend you arm due to pipes pulling down on such a small area of fabric.

for instance

so to combat this I used a V shape strap to spread the load across the shoulder, now when you pull down on this there is no distortion in the material

Now on the pipe end I have replaced one of the hoses with smaller diameter one ( I know that its wrong etc) but its more practical for walking around, posing for pics, and basically moving my arm like a normal person and I want to enjoy the day.

I bolted it in a curved position and attached elastic to it, the end on the sleeve is also on at a slight angle this way when I bend my arm the whole assembly will come out from under the sleeve and flex on the elastic and not on the pipes or fabric, I have tried it without the elastic and unbent pipe and the resistance is awful on your wrist when you bend your arm...

The Boba Maker gloves come with button, I find buttons fiddly at the best of times so for ease I swapped them out with velcro, this way I can get them on tighter and keep the cuff of the flight suit contained inside it

Again velco used to put the side pouches on to the belt

I have also added velcro to the forearms, getting the gauntlet to close without fabric getting all trapped and hanging out is just irritating, this way all you do is fold it over and it goes in with a lot more ease and a lot less faff!

One tip I find works well, when sewing onto the flight suit, stuff it with bubble wrap it takes out distortion in the fabric and what ever you are attaching will go on a lot flatter
Its all going together in bits at the moment, I am spending so much time on it to get it ''right'' for Con in march my updates will be thin for a while... lots of testing lots of trial and error.. you do one thing another issue pops up, once I have figured out all these details I will tidy up all the little ''concept ideas'' I am using, I don't want to make it all work but then fall apart on the day.... so effectively I will end up doing it all twice :unsure feeling drained........but optimistic
I will get it done!
