My attempt at a Death Watch scratchbuild

It's been a while since I actually contributed something to this forum, so I figured I'd start with a new project. I do have a McQuarrie concept Fett helmet I'll post a thread on later, but for now, I'd like to post progress on my Death Watch helmet build.

This post is all the pics I have so far.

After looking at the last two pics (and after advice from a friend), I got to thinking that the front of the face was too short. So I have begun lengthening the face another couple of inches. I'll post pics of that when I get that part done.

I'd like to say a thanks to Torso Boy for the inspiration. I did use some of his ideas about the ears and back of the helmet. Also, since he hasn't posted any progress on his bucket for almost a year, and since people are chomping at the bit in his thread for some progress, I figured I'd take a shot at it.

Other than the face issue...comments, questions, suggestions?

It looks pretty good...where do you get the signs? I know lowes or somewhere like that has them, but I get easily side tracked if I just wonder through the isles. And how much are they each? (and how many do you need for an average helmet?)

Wal-Mart is your friend. In my local store, they are in the home improvement center near the mail boxes. They average about $2.12 apiece and I think I used about 5 signs, but buy a couple extra just in case.

Maybe... I'm three-for-five on projects so far, so this one might see some progress.

Seriously, I do plan on trying to have these done soon so I can start casting them. I'll keep this thread up to date as I make more progress.
