MS2 helmet build

Hey folks! This is my first real post here. I’ve been working on a Rearmored Boba for a while, but I’ve been trying to up my game and actually strive for 501st approval.

Here’s some progress shots of my Red Bow Props helmet that I’m working on. I’ve just finished the texture and will start on painting soon.

Alright! Tonight I got the first stage of masking done, then went out to pops’ shop and did the upper cheeks, back panel, and the lil bit of the ear that sticks out.

I also got a lil primer on my repair that I did previously. I’m really excited to get the red on and see how this thing looks! I’m gonna start work on painting the details on the ear caps. As soon as the paint has cured, it’s more masking and some red to make the whole thing come together.

Here it is with all the base paint on it! I hate the brow and am going to do more repairs asap. It looked ok with primer but it showed up really bad with the red on it.

Other than that, I’m really happy with it!

Yeah that bow does need some sanding. I would probably sand it down nice and smooth, add the texture, prime and repaint. Lots of effort but it'll look great!

I worked on it all I could spare and it looks a lot better. I’m not too concerned with it being perfect since he’s acid burned, but it’s level and has some texture on it to blend it in

Here’s some more updates!

The kill stripes took several iterations to get to a point where I’m satisfied, but it looks good so far! Tonight is some black and brown washes, then the visor!

And here is is with all the weathering done. I love seeing how much it comes to life during the brown and black washes.

Here is a photo dump from the last post to the completed bucket! I installed the visor and darkened the upper cheeks.
