I don't tend to share stuff that's very personal on the boards, but I wanted to mention that this evening marks one week since my wife's mom, Mrs. Georgie Compton, passed away.
She was 81 years old and died from complications arising from renal/liver failure. The official cause of death was heart failure from gross imbalances in her blood chemistry.
She was a very sweet, loving woman who welcomed me into their family from the moment my wife and I told her parents we intended to get married. I always hear the mother-in-law horror stories and I know that I was lucky because none of that ever applied to me.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Cecil Compton, and daughters Mariah (my wife), Lisa, and Debbie. We attended the funeral service on Thursday afternoon and Georgie now rests in a very peaceful cemetery at a rural church near their home.
My wife has had her ups and downs during the past week, mostly worried about how her father is doing, since he has some minor heart issues as well. He was devestated at the viewing on Wednesday evening, but seemed a little better at the service on Thursday.
Take care, everyone.
