Moded jango thigh armor w/ fiberglass holsters

So I had a thought for my custom mando,
I want to fab up some fiberglass thigh armor and include fiberglass westar holsters to them eliminating the need for straps.

My question is has anyone attempted this and if so does it work well?

it has been done, can't think of who did it off the top of my head but aside from the TCW Deathwatch references (which have been nicely replicated) I do know it can be done. It simply requires a bit of patience and persistence on your part.
