I bought some Crimp-On Insulated Butt Connectors + 12-10 gauge at Radio Shack. Is that the right one he is talking about in the YouTube tutorial? Thanks.

The wires may be even smaller than that...maybe 14?

Yep Fett For Real. JangoFett76 what size battery are you going to use? 9 volt? If so then 14 gauge.

The fan will probably run off 9V, but it's not too hard to run 2 AAs and one 9V in series to get 12V.

Ok. Just use WTFetts drawing without the 2xAA Battery holder. Running that 12v fan with a 9volt should be fine.

Put a fan in the helmet for a troop on July 4th and I gotta say that was nice to have.

I just ran the 12V fan on a 9V battery and had no troubles at all.

I would HIGHLY recomend taking out the 9v battery. Replace it with a bunch of AAA batteries instead. The 9V's don't last long and they get REALLY hot if left on. Just mmy 2 cents since replacing ALL of my 9V stuff...
