hi does anybody know where to find the shin tools and some other things

I picked up my tape from Home Depot! They have traditional electrical tape (a display with an assortment of colors), but at the bottom was a “fabric” type electrical tape. It resembles gaffer tape, and does the trick!

You might not have to glue the rods together either; if you get then from MCR, they come tapped. While you’re at Home Depot, pick up a set screw and screw them together!

I have minimal input on glues or welding...

Boochman,
I like the "Screw" idea". I'm gonna have to go back to Home Depot to see if my store has the tape your referring to. (Care to show a pic of this tape?)

Thanks,

Yes sir - it’s called “friction tape”. It ends up being quite tacky on both sides, whereas gaffers tape is only sticky on one side I believe. The tackiness wears off as it gets handled tho, and it’s a cloth-like material as discussed above. Similar to athletic tape.

I picked up the Gaffers Tape from a local Hardware store. it was also about 1" width too. I do believe this should do the trick, yeah? ;)
