what is the best glue for installing a tinted plexiglass visor in a don post '95 boba fett helmet? I got putty epoxy, but the visor is kinda springy, and I don't have much of a way to clamp it? :confused
If you are looking for a more permanent option that will lock the visor in place, I used Plastic Welder from Walmart. It is a 2 part epoxy that hardens in about 10-15 minutes and is designed to work very well with any kind of plastic. It also mixes very thick, unlike regular epoxy, and it is very easy to work with. I recommend using the tutorial on tk409.com and follow the diagram that shows where to apply the 'globs'. You only need to glue at a few key points and it will hold just fine. Word of caution....this stuff bonds very well and the only way to really remove it, is to sand or cut it off with a dremmel. Hope this helps.
Here is a pic of the inside of my Rubies. I use the glue to hold the visor and a piece of steel stock to keep the 'flare' of the mask intact. (Click on pic for a larger image)
