Hello from Puerto Rico!

Hello there everyone!

My name is Juan and I’ve been a Star Wars fan ever since I can remember. My older brothers also love Star Wars, they showed me ANH and that moment in Tantive IV where all the troopers march in… I loved that armor. I knew that some day, some time, I’d get to be a stormtrooper.

Fast forward to 2009, I was still 17, starting college, I finally managed to land a small job, saving up here and there, I managed to save up for a TK armor, built it and LOVED every second of it.

But it wasn’t enough, yeah? I also got a Scout a few years later, built myself a custom mando out of cardboard and bondo. I also built a Snowtrooper (which was sadly a recast and a very bad looking one, but I managed to make it work)

Fast forward! 2021-22 i jumped back again into costuming with new goals in mind. I got an ICAT trooper from Mando S02 Ep07 “The Believer”, and I’m also currently finishing up a Mudtrooper build which I’m very close to the finish line.

Now what? I need/want more!

I circled back to one of my favorite movies, AOTC (don’t judge me lol) and asked myself… What if?

What if I built one of my favorite Fetts? As
much as I like Boba— I LOVE Jango-space-cowboy-Fett. That shiny metal, cool looking poses and pistol whipping sounds like a perfect gig for me.

I have a slight question, my melon is quite big and I HAVE to wear glasses or I just can’t see. 24 inch melon, almost 25 with my glasses on. I’ve tried a few mando helmets and unfortunately they were to small to even go past my nose. Any one in particular that makes big helmets?

First off, Welcome! And such a impressive set of costumes your managed to fashion for yourself!

I’ve built myself a ROTJ Boba Fett. And landed on “Boba Maker” as one of my primary vendors. Daz (The owner of Boba Maker) does a variety of different Fett's and has been at it for 20+ years. He's a well established and respected vendor amongst the community and does one helluva job on his stuff! And if you value customer service, this guy has outstanding customer service in my experience with him.

He uses a technique called "Cold Casting" on his Jango's, which isn't new to the world of cosplay, but I think it makes props looks so much better!

Be forewarned though - Boba Maker's stuff is on the pricey side. But I think that old saying goes "You get what you pay for". Here is my kit....

The Helmet and ALL the Armor on my kit is Boba Maker! The Jetpack pictured is a 3D printed Jetpack (Due to budget constraints) But since these photos I got my hands on Boba Maker's Jetpack too! And am currently working to finish it up!

Now....head size. I seen you have a concern about that. Many of The Dented Helmet members have stated that Boba Makers Buckets are on the large side. Some, have even returned the helmets due to them being too large for them. Myself, like you I also have that larger head. Measured just above my eye brow, I come in at 23 & 3/4 inches. and I feel inside of my Boba Maker Helmet that I still have some room left. And you want room anyways for fans and other accessories. I've got a Wireless Servo for the Range Finder to swing down....

I still need a fan (or two).

All I can say is just do you research, ask questions and be wary of scammers out there.

Looking at your other costume photo's I can't wait to see what you come up with!

First Welcome! ^………………………^ everything Iron said. I had a complete set of armor and soft parts from Bobamaker ( no helmet) I loved his pieces. The look , paint and weathering was top notch work. He stated the time needed to produce, and had it down to the day. Can’t recommend Bobamaker enough. I think his wait time is about 6 months ,could be more but it’s definitely worth it. Good luck in the hunt!
