Mullreel Well-Known Hunter Jul 22, 2011 #2 try using a wood stain. I am not sure what is available in the UK though. The mohair will not hold regular fabric dye, majority of it will bleed out. The other option is to use spray paints. Believe it or not the spray paint works fairly well.
