gauntlet question

Hey folks, I have a question about the gauntlet squares.

I've noticed that on the pre-pro gauntlets the squares are right next to where the velcro attatches the top part from the bottom part. Are they the same on the ESB gauntlets? how about the ROTJ gauntlets.

I guess my question is, which one looks correct to you?

I would go with the version on the far right.
