First time airbrushing. How bad is it? :/

It looks like there are lines and this is the first coat. Am I cooked or is there away to get rid lines after they are there?
Here is the armor

Build up multiple thin coats, don't try to go for full coverage on the first coat.

Acrylic paints like Archive X / Tamiya ect have fairly quick drying time so for multiple pieces with the same colors I usually work in an assembly line fashion doing a coat on each part individually... (For example I'll pick an order and start with left chest, then right chest, then ab, then collar ect..)

By the time I've reached the end of the assembly line with the first light base coat it could be 25-30 minutes since I started the first piece and it may be dry enough to go back to the top of the assembly line and do coat #2 , #3

I would wait for full cure in between colors if I'm doing layered with masking.

I think I went a little too hard and wasn’t going slow enough across and didn’t overlap my sprays enough. This is after another two layers and it’s looking better but not quite there

Try a siphon fed airbrush for coverage! Paasche H series single action will give you a phenomenal coverage with minimal layers.

You were fine all along. You don’t want to overlap to much because it builds up thicker layers. A feathered edge is good for big spray areas. Main thing is always wait until it’s dry before the next coat, which is faster with an airbrush than a rattle can. Also depending on your paint, many are a tad bit translucent when put down with an airbrush because the paint layers are so thin. Looks good so far!
