Just wanting to know when everyone repainted thier helmets, did they fill in Don Post 1997, Made in China, Copyright..etc
on the back? Wont it hurt future resale?
Who cares about resale value? Just kidd'in bud, but I have serious doubts that a 97 DP is gonna bring big bucks down the road-theres a ton of em floatin around, and most of the serious costumers scoff at them. If your gonna try for an accurate helm, fill that info in w/ some bondo. If your really concerned about resale value in the future, you better not re-paint it at all! The first thing I did w/ my 96 DP was sand & fill the info on the back, but I guess ultimately, It is up to you!
You'd get a lot more money with a repainted helmet than a stock one. If you're worried you can take a picture of the date. This applies to the 95 and 96. A stock 95 can run a good price but if it's repainted well, you can get a lot more money than stocked.
