Fett ESB "plate?" under flamethrower...

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with what looks like a "plate" under Fett's flamethrower. I'm working on my gauntlets, and I noticed this plate on my kotobukiya vinyl kit.
Does anyone make these for their gauntlets or have a template?
