hi fellow fetts,

just some pictures of the start of the flak vest build. excuse the sewing on the shoulder .
started off as a gillet. so when finished will be worn back to front.

How did it end up looking ?

I finished my Gillette but found that the material was a tad too soft for holding my armour whilst out and about.
Then again I am an All Metal Fett..

It really depends on what you want to do with the costume, but I suggest just buying some tackle twill. It will look more accurate and will hold the armor up better. I gave myself a lot of headache by not going that route to begin with. However, for that light of a material I would definitely suggest lining it with interfacing as well as batting, it will help it to be stiffer.
