New Hunter
I am looking to build myself a Boba Fett ROTJ Hero suit. In the planning stages right now and looking or feedback or possibly other options for sources. For now I am focusing on the basics: body and armor to get started, maybe gauntlets and helmet. Jetpack, blaster, belts, braids, and tools to be added later.

Hoping to eventually get 501st approval too, so any pointers there are helpful and appreciated.

Below is a list of some sources I have found. I would like to acquire these painted as I have 0 artistic skills to get them painted.

Welcome to the hunt.

Those vendors are all good, although there should not be a “maybe” behind Arkady. She is the best and Carole is a delight to work with.
The reason for the maybe was that I have not heard back from her yet. I have gotten messages from all of the others listed with pricing and whatnot. I've heard nothing but great things about her though so I am hoping I hear back soon so I can start the journey!

She has had some health issues the past couple of years so she has cut down on her workload. If you are able to get on her wait list, it is well worth it.

I saw something about that on her IG page. A number of people have recommended her so I'm going to give her a few days to respond and see if we can work something out. If not, I can go with a different vendor. Hoping she responds though.

Then definitely watch the CRL requirements. For example, your flight suit will need to be one piece for approval.

My one suggestion is research, research! Measure a few times and cut once!
I plan to. I have a spreadsheet going with different vendors and prices and whatnot. I've been poring over the forums here on TDF and on BobaFettBuilders trying to identify the right people to do the job and reaching out to get pricing. I also got in contact with a local guy who has the same kit I am looking to build and has been approved. He was nice enough to send me his build list and we talked for a few hours about it.

Matching the CRL is also one of the reasons I want to start small and work my way up. I can checkout each piece as I get it in and integrate into the final costume and touch up as needed. So far everyone that I have contacted has been extremely helpful. Looking forward to finally building this!

I'm hearing from people that woodman has become non-responsive and late on deliveries. He's has been around a loooong time here on TDH. He seems to have periods where he disappears and then re-emerges. I got ROTJ wookie scalps from him 15 years ago. Top notch quality. If you do ever get a hold of him, you might have a long wait. For an ammo belt you could try HandmadeHorrors. All my ammo belts are from him and he does a great job. Not sure who else makes braids these days. Theoretically those are something you could do yourself. RafalFett did the research to make that relatively easy. The hard part is sourcing the hair.

Thanks for the information. Fortunately the scalps and girth belt are not critical right now so I have time to shop around and find alternate sources.

As for the ammo belt, I found the Handmade Horrors shop as well. I would go ahead an order, but I don't have a good size to send at the moment. Will probably wait on that until I get a flight suit in so I can take accurate measurements.

For the girth belt I would just buy one like this and dye it. It’s really easy and there are tutorials here.

For the braids, chondro788 was making a run at the end of last year. I have a set of his and I think they are just as good as woodman’s. He hasn’t been on here lately, but you can try to contact him to see if he has any left.

I'll take a look at that on Amazon. I saw a thread on here too about dyeing it properly.

I'll see about talking to chondro as well.

Thanks again for the info!!!

I was able to get on Arkady's wait list, woo hoo! Unfortunately she does not make gloves. Any suggestions on makers for gloves? I have KriptonTop as an option, but wasn't sure about any others. Bonus points if anyone knows someone who makes them that will pass level 2. Not a requirement, but would be nice.

I would recommend Clothears gloves. They are top quality and the most accurate.
