Do you think it is better to paint the jetpack before or after it is assembled?

I will be airbrush painting my ESB Jet Pack this weekend and was wondering if you guys have a recommendation as to whether or not I should assemble the jetpack before or after painting it? Does one tend to yield better results?

Paint everything before assembly.

paint it before you put it together. but do all the prep for assembly before you paint, i.e. drilling and cutting holes, setting screws, etc.
