District 9 weapons

I'm modeling all of the District 9 weapons (that I can get ref. pics of) to be made into pepakura files or possibly cnc milled. I am wondering how detailed I need to make them. If I do it too detailed, it will be impossible to pep, but if it is not detailed enough, there will be lots of postwork after it is cnc milled.
I am starting with the gasthrower. It didn't get much screen time, but I like the look of it.

That would be cool. I was thinking building D9 weapons would be pretty cool when watching it. Alas, I don't think my building skills are up to the challenge atm.
