Chest Display (ie, lights)

I have a set that I got way back when he lowered the price to 80 the first time and I have never looked back. They were such a good investment. They really add a nice finnishing touch to your costume and look great. They work perfectally. I love them and can't say enough good things about them, I have had so many compliments on them when wearing or displaying my costume. Also they are really good on battierys, I have had the same battery on mine for the last 3 or 4 troops.

I just sent off an e-ail to my board supplier ... still haven't heard from them, so I'm pushing on my end. The parts order has already arrived, so I'm just waiting on the etched boards. I'm done with school for this semester, so as soon as they arrive ...

Just posting a quick update. As far as I know, I've replied to all e-mails and PMs. If I've missed anyone, please write again. I'm getting a bit absent minded in my old age (not to mention stressful life). ;)

The PC boards arrived, and look great. Now all I need are those pesky LEDs, and we're cookin'. :) For those that have already paid, I'll be cutting the boards apart tomorrow or Thursday, and getting started on the first half of the circuit, so I can get those out ASAP after the last parts arrive.

Hmmm ... green, huh? I've been asked about blue (not doable yet), but never green. Honestly, I could get the top row of LEDs in green, but I've never seen a green 7-segment display (bottom characters).

I saw the post about the green display ... will have to check further into it, to make sure they are the right size and have the same pin-out.

I just wanted to let y'all know that the parts have arrived, and the first 5 should be ready to go by tomorrow. This is conditional on me getting the last of it done in the morning, before my dental appointment. After the appointment, I don't think I'll be up to assembling (according to the doc).

I have 5 sets almost done, and 3 of those are paid for. So if anyone else needs one in a hurry, e-mail me (don't just send payment). If I have one unaccounted for, I can accept payment and have it mailed out in the next 2 days. :)

Just wanted to update everyone, that all paid orders are packaged and ready to ship first thing in the morning. I e-mailed all those that had paid, that my dental appointment didn't go as well as planned, and I was out for a couple of days. Anyhow, the circuits are all done, tested, and boxed now. :)

Zeever, I think I found a set of the LEDs (through your links) that mights work ... I'd have to make sure the pin-out is correct, but didn't see that on the website. Anyhow, if the pin-out is good, it would cost another couple of bucks over my normal set (cost of these is a bit higher than my red LED supplier).

If anyone else is interested in a set, since I now have boards in-hand, they are available on an ongoing basis. Just keep in mind I'll be out of commission (real estate related) by the end of this month.
