Chest armor center diamond crack/dent?

Alright Fetts, so I was scrolling through the archives and was looking over ESB Fetts armor and I noticed something there that I hadn't seen before. I zoomed in and it appears what looks like a hairline crack in the paint rolling across and to the left, and a dent in the lower right portion of the center diamond. I underlined and pointed to what I'm looking at. (Poorly, I know) One with and without edit for reference. The dent to me looks clear as day from the angle, but I could be wrong. The crack going across could be trash on the film??? I don't know. My eyeballs see a small hairline crack. Wondering if anyone can review/confirm. This is the hallway scene in Bespin, escorting frozen Han to the Slave 1. RafalFett Ord Mantell BudaFett Jurassic_Fett (Sorry if you weren't tagged)

Interesting. I first thought it was the image quality, but I think I see it in other references as well (or my eyes are playing tricks on me). Could be a crack, or imperfection in that diamond pull. Could even be a paint imperfection in one of the layers underneath,

Maybe it's a long lost hair from the painter, forever trapped underneath the paint job

Well, I didn't think this is what I'd spend my morning doing, but tiny chips and dents are exactly the kind of thing I love talking about, so I had to get in on the action while it's still hot.
I looked through the gallery, and found a few more pictures of the chest diamond where the dent is visible, it seems to stay a consistent size and shape even in different angles and lighting, so it's probably not a trick of the light.

In this one below, you can also see the edge of the diamond, that will come up later...

Interestingly, neither MinuteFett's lineage armor, nor Bobamaker's armor contain the dent.

MinuteFett's suit appears to have it from a distance, but on closer inspection, is just a gap in the silver damage. You also can see that in the screen-used armor, the dent never appears all that darker than the surrounding armor, so perhaps it is just a gap in the silver damage that is shaped like a dent. I wouldn't blame you for seeing it as a dent though, I certainly did and still kind of do, even after seeing MinuteFett's armor. I can't say for sure about the hairline fracture, since I personally can't see it in any other reference image other than the one you posted.

Just got back from lunch. I agree. I also looked at several other references as well and still shows it there. It almost looks as if there may be another small dent towards the top right as well. Not as pronounced as the previously mentioned dent, and there is the possibility it could be paint/shadow, but from several angles it may be another small nick in the centerpiece. Especially using the same logic as the lower dent looking at the form of the armor and what's behind it. But the lower dent looks confirmed to me.

I think the upper dent has more of a chance of being a gap in the silver than the bottom, because the upper one disappears when tilted. I hope that makes sense.

Definitely much smaller as well. Didn't have much time to reference it like the other before I left. I feel like I want a new centerpiece now...ha

I don't see it. All I see in the spot in question is green paint.

MinuteFett's chest armor does not come entirely from the ESB hero armor. It's the ROTJ SE set which was a jumble of different plates... the diamond might have been from the PP1 or a touring suit set.

I went back to Jurassic's shot and highlighted what looks like the armors edge in blue, and where it appears there is depth/dent in red, and a possible break in that edge line. Maybe it's hard for me to unsee. Would be interested to hear what others see. The hairline crack that goes across I still see haha.

A different scene, different lighting. I still very faintly see where it is if I look close lol. It's in so many different pics in the Bespin hallway scene.
I can admit it isn't there, but I still see it! Maybe for my next suit, I'll put it on my diamond just for giggles
