Armor thickness?

Does anyone know how thick the armor pieces should be? I'm currently working with 3mm Sintra, but I'm worried it will look too thin. I just want to make sure the armor has depth and looks realistic. Thanks for the help!

There's a lot of fantastic shots of the sides of the armor that show you the thickness of it. If you're working off of templates, I'd make them just a smidge bigger so you can heat the edges and roll them down to create "depth".

Ponte, thanks for the advice. I also saw someone else do two layers of 3mm Sintra to make it thicker. I've just been very indecisive wanting to make it perfect.

I don't know the properties of sintra, but the film armor was 1.5mm ABS
2mm ABS is very nice and looks plenty thick enough. if you use 3mm sintra and leave about 1/4 excess to heat and form in as the return edge, it will look much thicker than it really is, but will be nice and light.
