Well, thanks to Alan and his perfect templates I finally have knee armor worthy of paint! Here they are...still need to add the dents, and the "F's" on the inside walls.

That's what Wal-marts are for! They look good! I gave up on the strip method to make the curve because they kept breaking off when I would put any pressure on them to try and work them. I've now figured out what I was doing wrong and may try them again at some point.
I give those an "F"...no...wait...you need to give them both an "F" and then finish em up!!

Alan: They worked perfectly. I reinforced the back of the bottom strips with bondo to give it more strangth. And your included "finished" side elevations helped me with the finer details of the shaping of the side blocks.
