my wife isn't so good at keeping secrets. my birthday is monday, but she gave me my present today:
this is geeky and symbolic all rolled up into one.
this is cast in 14K white gold, custom made by my friend jessica, who is a jeweler by trade.
included in the metal is the excess gold from when my wedding ring had to be reduced by a couple sizes to accommodate my weight loss (over 50 pounds).
now, the main driver for said loss was looking right in my fett costume. so here's a permanent reminder of the achievement!
and jess says that if anyone is interested, she could make more, and it could be done in just about any metal you want (though i don't know if she works in cheaper stuff like pewter)
