$450 Supreme Rubies Boba Fett Costume?

BobaTheFett

New Hunter
Hi, fellow fans. I'm new to this site, so I don't know what's cheap or not cheap, but I'm wondering if anyone has a $450 Supreme Rubies Boba Fett costume to sell, that's obviously been used.

Just the original costume, with no upgrades. I plan on editing it myself, like tinting the visor and replacing the velcro on it. I know that a lot of people on this site hate their Rubies costumes and try to upgrade them as much as possible. So here I am, asking for the monstrosity of a costume. I don't have enough money to use to spend $1000 on a costume, so I just want something cheap. It needs to be Standard size, if you will. And if you have something, I might not buy it right away. I most likely will make the sale in around November - December when I can actually pull it off. I just need to know if anyone actually has that "worthless" costume to sell for a lower price than normal.

Like I said earlier, don't reply or PM me saying that I'll never make any purchases. I just need something that won't kill the wallet. The maximum price I'm willing to buy for is $450. No more, obviously less. With all the Rubies Costume comes with:

The Helmet
The Chest
The Jetpack
The Gloves
The Wrists
The Shoulders
The Knees
The Belt
The Boots
The Cod

That's what I would expect in a purchase. Like I am saying again, I'm not really expecting anything to show up, I'm just wondering. Thanks in advance. Oh, and if you don't have anything to sell, where can I find one that's $450? I was on Amazon when the price was $444, but then it went back up to $650, so I just looking for a little help.

Even if you find one for $450 by the time you start upgrading and fixing things your actual price will climb rapidly. You will end up spending 1K in the long run anyways.

If you have $450 to spend right now I would start putting things together and continue to add on until you are complete. To be honest that is how I put my Boba Fett together. My Jango Fett I dove in and got it done, which cost me money. But on my Boba I have built it over about 3 years to diffuse the cost.

I know it will cost me more later. I just mean I need all of the parts so I can make more money so I can upgrade it. As of now, I just need the actual armor and costume itself. I mean, I'll probably fix all of those things around March if I can actually get my hands on a $450 Rubies.

Another cheap alternative that will definitely turn out better than the rubies is if you scratch build many of the parts yourself. I've done it myself with pretty good success with the help of Rafalfett and WOF's templates.

If you're planning on upgrading but want to save money, you really should consider doing it right the first time. In the long run, you will spend way more money improving the costume if your final goal is to have more than just a Halloween costume.

i don't understand. Are you wanting to buy a rubies, upgrade it, and then sell it for more money to fund a better costume?

Save your money. It's junk.

I plan on using the Rubies as a start so I can make future upgrades in the long run. I have no plan on ever selling anything I buy (or make) because it's just something I want to own. Like I said, I know it'll cost more money then. I just need the actual costume itself before I start saving money for upgrades.

If cheap is the way you want to go. I've seen them brand new on Ebay for under $550

I've been looking all over Ebay and they're just $600+. Otherwise, I most likely would have that deal.

One recommendation I have is to listen to the corporate knowledge of the people on this forum. There is a reason you came here to talk about this. People are providing you feedback and guidance, but it seems you have your mind made up as to your direction.

The reason you hear this advice is from experience and knowledge learned over time.

You don't go to Yoda for advice and then when he give it to you pat him on the head and say "I will go my own way".

just my 2 cents.

What from the Rubies kit will you keep in the end? In other words, what are you not planning on upgrading? I'd imagine you'd replace just about everything on that suit.

Yeah, listen to these guys. I know it seems like a quick way to get a lot of the parts at once, but it's a total waste of money. It's complete junk, not just in appearance but in construction and materials as well. You can make your own armor out of sintra or trashcans, and it will be less expensive and much better. Check the cargo hold daily for deals on soft parts and other items you can't make yourself. You can get much more for your money.

The prices have gone up due to Halloween approaching, or it appears that is what generally happens. The time to pick one up cheaper will be after Halloween when they do costume clearances. if you are truly wanting to go with the Rubies.

Put it this way....NOTHING on the suit is usable, so "upgrading" it is REPLACING it....its complete garbage. Its a Halloween costume, if that's what youre looking for, Id say take your 450 bucks and make something better....or as good even for less $ you can build armor from a $20 trashcan for heavens sake...its not worth the headache nor the money

I've decided to put my faith in you fellow Fetts and am going to collect piece by piece the Boba Fett costume. I have looked at reviews and most of them are horrible. I'll trust you guys. Any body got a nice looking helmet to start with? ;)

I did listen. I'm not buying the costume. No need to be a jerk.

That's the right decision. Don't underestimate your own painting skills. I ended up painting my armor and bucket myself and I'm happy with how it turned out.
I've never done anything like that before.
There are a ton of step by step tutorials here to help.
You hit a bit of a TDH nerve with Rubies as I'm sure you can tell. I think everyone here had your best interest in mind when they tried to steer you away.
You dont have to spend a ton of money to build a solid Boba (but it helps )
