Hi all, I built a vacuum forming table some time ago which I've used for various projects. I'd never actually shown any pictures of the table before, so I decided to make a YouTube video all about it. Of specific interest is probably the way I heat the plastic, which is quite easy to reproduce...

Thanks guys, I'm afraid I've not made much recent progress though. Mostly I've been very busy putting clay in boxes.

Here's the latest update on this project. After a very long time sanding and filling (and they still aren't perfect), I've sorted out the legs which were previously pictured as raw casts: Primer going on: And the paint... I still have to lacquer the thighs so there will be some more...

I'm working on sanding the legs as we speak, so I'll have some more pics coming soon... it's hard work though, so far I've done one shin which now needs filling and sanding again.

Thanks guys. Here's today's update of the raw castings of the legs. They are both made from Jesmonite, as all the parts will now be, with glass fibre surface tissue and chopped strand mat laid up. I'll be cutting them about at the top so they are lower in the middle and fit underneath the...

Thanks all, here are a couple of shots I took today in daylight - and I've done some refitting so the torso sits further forward and slightly higher. I also found it was much easier to take the photos while I'm not wearing it ;-) There are a few more at: http://www.xrobots.co.uk/Iron Mancostume/

Here's today's update. I've attached the shoulder bells, and as you can see the whole thing is quite a bit wider than I am - so my arms will have to go into the bicep pieces at an angle. I have a bit more foam to add to the front of the torso so it sits forward further over the shoulders, but...

Here's the latest on this project: This week I'll be making a start on the legs now the moulds are done, and hopefully attaching the front and back of the torso together so I can wear them ;-)
