Thanks!
The locator keys are to align and hold the silicone part of the mold in place with the fiberglass jacket. Without them the silcone layer would deform.
Hello everyone!
My Jango kit was approved by my local trooping squad! :D
But before taking on it's first outing, I wanted to do a few more little changes/additions...
I revisited the blasters and decided to repaint the handles. I used the same Alclad II paint that I used on the rest of the...
It would! But I have a mould and it'd be a shame to not get the use out of it... Saying that, I'm probably not going to do it right away, as I want to troop what I have at the moment... Before I start modifying everything... ;)
I only played it briefly, but I still have it for PS2 somewhere. I...
Upon closer inspection, it seems the helmet is relatively the right size (the visor section at least). The dome could do with a little more height, the cheeks are too wide and the sides of the helmet need to taper less. I feel this could all be achieved fairly easily. Sigh... I'll add it to my...
Thanks a lot! (y)
I think perspective plays a big part in this, but I think you're right... It's made from one of my Boba Fett helmets so I expected the measurements to be a little off for Jango (who seems to have a taller and thinner helmet). I've been thinking about doing another cast and...
Today I attempted to tackle Jango's heat issues... Quite successfully if I do say so myself!
I drew up and 3D printed some parts to fit the Blower fan I have.
These parts attached to each end of some spare Boba Fett gauntlet hose I had.
One of the 3D printed parts was glued onto the...
No, just the collar piece. I can't get my head through the vest with the collar attached so I just have to remove that part... The rest of the armour stays attached to the vest along with the back plate, jetpack and harness. I put the lot on in one go. (y)
Ah, good to know that it's not just...
I have done a few modifications today, in an attempt to make the costume cooler and more ergonomic.
I cut a section out of the back of the flight suit and stitched a breathable mesh in place, in hopes that the hot air will escape.
I did the same with flak vest.
It's difficult to say if...
Thanks for the kind words everyone! :D
Its time to get some colour on this armour!
I'm using Rub n Buff, so I began by masking of the areas I wanted to be silver as paint does not cover rub n buff (with it being wax based).
Once applied, the masking was reversed and I began painting...
Happy Saturday Everyone! Time for some more progress! :D
For the boot armour I etched the inner surface to allow the glue for the straps to grab better.
I used 20mm elastic for the straps and used a lighter to singe the ends to stop them from fraying.
Poppers were added to the ends and...

Thanks!
Admittedly, I was a little further ahead than this thread suggested... Hence looking like I work super fast. I just find it easier to post in smaller bursts! :)
Whilst looking at doing some mods to my Rubie's Westars... I couldn't find many pics of people having done the same, so I decided to take a load of progress pics just in case anyone else was looking to do the same...
I began by removing the screw covers. Though these were only pushed in, I...
