I'm trying to sort out my braids, but I'm just finding more questions than answers. Posted this on Facebook as well so apologies if someone's reading it twice. I've braided up some synthetic hair, and this has led to me to conclude that there's no way the blonde braid can be one braid braided...

Decided to go for it with the repro shelter. Gave it a wash to get some of the colour out before some cutting: Then get the pins and iron out to hem it before the sewing machine. 1/2" hem all around and put in a ring to mount it with: Masking tape and then on with the Archive-X Rust. I...

Gave it a wash which took some of the colour out of it. It just changes depending on the light. It's green! It's beige! It's pea greenish beigeish! How much do people hem it on the edges?

Got a replica half shelter from What Price Glory. As usual it's difficult to get the correct colour representation as it just changes in the light. This is with overcast conditions so quite white light. I'm thinking somewhat ok?

Thanks. I've ordered a reproduction one from What Price Glory. It says it's cotton duck so hopefully it'll be somewhat ok. A bit of general roughing up and we'll see what it looks like.

I'm wondering about the length as per the measurements above. My wool cape is exactly the measurements above, 780 x 780 mm, and as you can see it's nowhere near as far down as the movie one. I'm wondering if it shouldn't be bigger? I'm the same height as Jeremy at 6 foot. I also need some more...

I'm hoping because this is a repro that it would be somewhat uniform in colour. I've asked them but they're never the best at replying. Then a few cycles in the wash hopefully and bash it around a bit. We'll see. Need new gloves first.

Dirty Down is pretty good. It will mostly wash off so you need to reapply it.
