The movie accurate version is to use Velcro. Personally I prefer not to have a hinge showing but to each their own.

Some of the other PP1 photos show the same strap hanging down but it is almost always tucked behind the ammo belt. I'm curious about the boots having white/grey piping on them instead of black.

Ah I'm from Louisville myself. Make sure you do plenty of research on which version of the costume you want to do and reference the photo gallery for screen accurate photos. Good luck on the build!

I enjoy a nice holiday boba fett myself. Wear the helmet and a Hawaiian shirt along with a few lei's. Never hurts to carry some absurd summer looking drink either. I have a tall flamingo shaped cup just for that lol.

My vote is side to side but there's no reason you couldn't make it rotate in case you wanted to have options.

If you set realistic expectations for timeframes on when you'd like to have things done by then jumping right into Boba is not an issue. It is actually what I'm currently doing. I've never done a costume of this quality and level of detail but it's actually fun to study and try to replicate.

Trust me I am by no means an expert on this as I have zero painting skills lol. To me it looks like the red for the mandibles, behind the ears, and the band might be a bit too orange. Hopefully someone with more painting experience than me will chime in though.
