First time airbrushing. How bad is it? :/

Try a siphon fed airbrush for coverage! Paasche H series single action will give you a phenomenal coverage with minimal layers.

What thinner to use for Archive X paints for airbrush use?

having done tons of paintjobs with AX, I have always used Tamiya x20a thinner, I even prefer it over the AX thinner

    General Floquil thinner?

All black caps you can use testors enamel thinner, all gold and white caps probably a lacquer thinner with toluene and xylol. As for airbrush, do not use gravity fed, use something siphon fed.

    Ord Mantell's ESB build

Ultimately, without Westaby, I would not have found the chips. Thankfully, Westaby had the knowledge regarding what could have worked and he found the 7490, 7442, and 7447. I found the 7400, capacitor values, and the sequence as for what is displayed and the pattern of the display. I just...

    Ord Mantell's ESB build

They are such an odd shape and color that I do not think there would be any quality modern LED's to match the originals.
