    Mini-Mandalorian Build Thread

I am currently working on my son's Mini-Mando. I have built a custom Mando for myself over a year ago, and my 8 year old son wants to go with me on JediOKC gigs, so I decided to do it. It's been fun. Here are the build pics of the helmet. I still have to do the visor, but would like to know...

Finally Some Good Pics of Jai Galaar!

Cylrul Pbz wrote: The pics don't really do it justice, but I've taken a dremel sanding drum to the soft parts to weather it. It will fray the fabric nicely. You ought to see what it makes the neck seal look like!

Finally Some Good Pics of Jai Galaar!

I've had much time to finish this armor and am happy with this "technological terror" I've constructed. Comments?? Please be kind...

    My New Style Mando Armour

This is some fantastic armor, dude! I love the paint scheme and the armor vest. I can't wait to see the rest of it. Are you doing a jet pack or are you going "packless"? I love the gun, too. It's really original.

    Traditional Vs Imagination

Funny you should mention that, but my friend who is making the leather holsters for these bad boys managed to make them go in and out of the holster smoothly without any further modification to the gun. He's just that talented.

Rubies helmets are a drag. My Boba (first costume ever) was done up with a repainted Jango that I drilled a dent into and redid the visor. I'm still not happy with it. It's too small. This is why I decided to build my own bucket when I did the custom. Believe it or not my nose isn't...

    Custom

Believe it or not, the ideal way to weather a jumpsuit or flightsuit is to wear it and then roll around outside like a kid. Do power slides, slide into home base, fall down, etc. Do this in a very sandy area as it will wear out the fabric nicely. You'll look like a total dork, but it works...

    Traditional Vs Imagination

Dude. I completely understand. I am a high school English teacher with 4 kids and a wife who chooses to be a homemaker. I scratchbuilt my gauntlets from sintra pvc, odds and ends from Radio Shack and bondo, but they still cost 1/4 of what some of these guys are charging for premade gauntlets...

    Bossk Bossk Progress Thread

I was just thinking the other day about what new costume I wanted to do. I thought: "Bossk would be cool, but how would I do it?" Wow. You have done an incredible job on the forearm and hand. I'll be watching this thread closely.

    Traditional Vs Imagination

According to the article about Mandalorian culture in Star Wars Insider, the Mandalorian armor was something that was perfected over centuries. Who is to say what it looked like in its infancy. I mean, look at these: NONE of these look like Boba/Jango, but they have the Boba/Jango feel to...

    Traditional Vs Imagination

Again, I will be flamed for this... If I bought an OCC Chopper, custom made by the boys at OCC and then repainted it when I recieved it, could I say I "customized" it? Of course not. I repainted it. If I bought a Luke Skywalker costume and then died it purple, did I customize it? Same...

My scratch built ESB jet pack

Boba was my first costume, and progress pics are non-existant. I basically used the templates and just pieced it together bit by bit using a phenomenal substance you get at Wal-Mart called "Welder". It comes in a silver tube and you can find it over in the paint section. I then used the...

    The Shriek Hawk is BORN!

Yeah. I know. That Boba was my first costume. I was a real novice at building, and basically did it all myself without any suggestions BEFORE I found this site by using the Smithsonian photos. Since I live in Oklahoma and at the time didn't know that there was an army of you guys out there...
