New Hunter
NY casual cosplayer with experience on the rpf and building Iron Man War Machine armors looking to become the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. Currently trying to source the parts to have an ROTJ build ready for NYCC in October

If you mean this October, it's not going to happen. You would be lucky to make next October. The only way to make the deadline is to buy a finished suit from someone and altering it to fit you.

well, it depends, does he want to get into the 501st or does he want to wow some 10 year olds...he did say "casual"...
then again... He did say best bounty hunter in the galaxy...

i wouldnt say IMPOSSIBLE but it would be kind of rough, mostly due to timeframes of softparts. But MOW for example has alot of the softparts ready to go. they are not bad pieces and can always be upgraded later if he so desires. I built my first fett in 4 months, so it CAN be done, if you have the cash ready to go.

I don't think it's impossible either. I set a goal for celebration in April but was told that wouldn't happen. After researching I can. I got in touch with RS Propmasters and their turn around for unfinished plastics is 2 weeks. They are offering free shipping right now which is nice. Their website shows stuff out of stock but just contact them. They have it. Not sure about soft parts in your time frame. I'm getting stuff done by Arkady and she said 3-4 months. I'd watch the cargo hold like a hawk. Good luck.

The guys that have given advice have been here, been thru almost all of it.
With RS, I've never seen turn around times of two weeks. Don't believe everything you hear.

RS props....two week turnaround....snerkle...

I had my Fett together in about 8 months after starting.....but as Lou said I had cash in hand and was lucky in aquiring various parts. I could have had it together in 5...but pushed back the time to save some costs.

The largest time sinks will be jet pack order, gauntlets, and helmet order / paintup. If you are painting it yourself you might be fine...but if you are going for 501st approval be prepared for some changes.

The largest problem with time frames on the costume is how much is involved with it. It doesn't initially look like much, but it's arguably the hardest 501st costume to get correct. There are so many parts and so much detail it's mind blowing.

Nothing at all to apologize about brother! We all start somewhere. RS has gotten quicker on some ABS parts, but the Fett get up is obviously very complicated and takes typically multiple vendors to get what you need. RS can do the entire suit as well, but I'd expect 1.5 years to get it. Unless you luck up and find a complete suit for sale that you'd be happy with, 1-2 years is a very realistic timeline. And even with a full costume it could still take further tailoring/altering to get it to fit someone best. Having good parts is important for 501st entry, but fit of it all is just as important.
