Finding a good first bucket

Atlas1

New Hunter
Hi all,

I'm new here and am looking to build ESB Fett. Any tips or pointers on finding a solid first bucket? Price isn't a huge deal, I want the investment to be worth it. Ideally, something I can wear and not just display. A few questions:

- how to spot a genuine FP or GM bucket? I'm seeing $600 for GM on here and $200 on an Etsy store.. Something seems off.

- Who are some reputable vendors of casts?

- Paint. I'm not crafty in the least, although I'm going to try to make other parts, sans the helmet. I've seen recommended painters here but what is the going rate for a screen accurate fully completed ESB bucket? I've got quotes from a few folks on painting too, just curious on the ready to go helmet.

- Any spare ESB parts you guys haven't yet listed in the cargo hold, I would be interested in purchasing.

- My approach is helmet, soft parts (cape, flight suit), boots, then armor and accessories along the way or to finish, ending with the jetpack and guns. Is this a good approach or is there a better route?

I appreciate any help and am excited to start my build!

Thanks!! :)

Most if not all thof helmets on etsy are recasts, so stay away. Look up DVH props on Facebook (Darth voorhees here) or animefan or wasteland. They are good sellers and their stuff is top notch.

As JC said....Wasteland, Animefan and DVH are the top sellers right now that you can trust. ToEleven has a great scratch-build helmet that he just upgraded that he'll be selling soon too.

mhlayne....I have to disagree with you on that point. I sell on Etsy and ebay and my helmets are very good in my opinion. I've sold nearly 200 helmets this year between those 2 sites. I have nearly a 4000 feedback on ebay. So as always potential buyers should always do their home work on any vendor before making a purchase!! Always look or ask for FEEDBACK on what ever item you are considering buying!!
Agreed on those 3 vendors, you wont get better. Steer clear of etsy and eBay.

tommyboy Glad you have had success on ebay/etsy.
I would say in general it is risky to buy off ebay and etsy, especially for the uninformed, new/first time buyer. They should definitely be on the forum finding who the vendors are, what good quality helmets are available, etc. on here first before venturing to sites like etsy and ebay. Also it depends on what quality helmets one is looking for, is it just a display piece or do they want Level 3 501st certification? Really hard to figure that out from reviews on ebay where the buyers might not be looking for accuracy. Just my opinion. Cheers!

a big reason for the price difference....can be; over head-quality-how close to cannon-materials used- size or style of helmet.
