My ESB Boba Fett JetPack Paint Job

It has taken me some time to acquire a Jet Pack and I was finally able to get my hands on a MoW JetPack several months ago (great guy). I have been working on it ever since and I am finally to a point I can show off some of my work.

This is my last item to complete before I apply to the 501st.

How did I do???

Thanks Everyone!

I think it looks better in person. Some of the dirt is not showing in this pic, my camera phone ducks ;-)

I have a buddy with a nice rebel that will be doing my 501st pics this weekend. I will post some pictures of that photo shoot to compare.

Hey I have a question . Wish paint you use ? Also you use a compressor or bottle of spray ? BTW it look very good !!!!!

Thanks Olimpo.

I will post a list of all my paints I used when I get home tonight. I will also detail the process and steps I took to get it to look like this.

Do you have a pack yet?

My pleasure buddy.

After you have assembled the JetPack you will need to begin painting.

1 - Primer Everything

2 - Paint the Rocket and Main Pack with Rustolem Metallic Can of Paint.

3 - Analyize all the images in the Gallery of the Pack and I also looked at the SpideyFett paint up, a great paint up as well.

4 - Mask off any major damage with masking fluid so that when you paint the pack and rocket green you can uncover the metallic look later. Now during the movie all the paint on the pack was done by painting over top of different layers and they did not mask anything off. I personally like the look after I used the masking fluid so that is what I did.

5 - Paint all parts with Humbrol 78

6 - Paint all details of red and yellow depending on the areas in the images. I used Humbrol 73, 154 and 99

7 - I weathered everything with my airbrush using some Black Paint with Windex about 1 : 10 to 1 : 5 ratio.

8 - Lastly I used a Brown Latex paint and a brush to create dirt areas up and down the seams were needed.

I am happy with the paint job and like I said I think my camera does not do it justice. :)

A fantastic looking jetpack you got there! Great work!

I´m at the point of painting my ESB jetpack... I got all the Humbrol paint, but not 100% sure where to use No. 154 and where No. 99. ;) Any help would be great.

The tank caps and collar piece are different shades of yellow.

Do you have a large airbrush because my spray is so small it would take me ages to do this...
