Extreme Budget Fett Boba Fett costume! ESB

Kylecanadian

New Hunter
This is my first ever thread/Boba fett build. So let's be kind and one big happy costuming family! Lol
anyway I have an extreme budget! 200$, now that may sound impossible but I'll try to do my best to prove to all of you amateur and professional cosplayers that you can do this. I'm going for a 50%+ screen accurate ESB boba fett.
help and support is always welcome! Just no hate please. I'm only 17 and don't make enough for fancy MOW armour or nice resin helmets, but I'll try my best to give something that all of you will be proud of!

Not sure if it's me, but your image doesn't show. And good luck! I know how hard it is to try to make something out of nothing. Several years of a Ramen Noodle college diet comes to mind, but I digress.

I saw either here or at the Bounty Hunter's Guild a template for a Boba Fett armor which could be sized for anyone from a child to a giant. I've downloaded it myself as my son is interested and I may pursue it for him soon. A really great thing to work with is thermoplastic and I'm having good luck with it too. Tandy Leather sells Terraflex for $20 a sheet. That's about all I got to offer for help. Best of luck!

Good luck! I did a budget Fett too. Although I'll say you'll end up spending more as you get more involved in the process and realise the cost of building materials and tools stacks up (so much Bondo... cue 'Nam flashbacks). I was originally planning a decent helmet and skimping on everything else; I wasn't even planning on having gauntlets at first. But the longer you spend in and around this community, the more you'll become about the accuracy. First it'll be 50%, then 70%, then 99.9 (and if you're around long enough, 100%)

Good luck. Post lots of pics along the way. What part of Canada you from (or do you just like the name)?
Na, im from Canada but I live in Arizona, its a nickname I use for everything XD

I think you're doing very well, though I don't normally follow Fett build threads. I wanted to check in on your thread because you've a tight budget, and when you're dealing with that particular issue, you tend to be far more creative in making it work out. I can appreciate that.

Funny thing about progress, the area you work in sure looks like a mess and things may be scattered (such that you often say, "Don't move! I set that x-acto blade down somewhere where you might be walking!!!"), and you have 3 or 4 things going at once, but when it comes together and nearly done, it''ll happen pretty fast. I'm neck deep in Zam and have 5 different parts in different stages of completion and all is moving along nicely.

thanks for your support, I'll be in New York for a week so no progress but when I return I will continue this thread. I'll try to post pics of the soon to be flight suit and cape, and the tacke twill fabric stuff.

paint helmet 1.JPGphoto 5.JPGSo the helmet aint looking too too bad. as you can see the left( or right depending how you see the image) has for 2 reasons. fist I hated the length of jangos ngefinder, it look really awful, and secondly it broke off. I guess the plastic adhesive and Arizona heat go too it.

photo 1.JPGphoto 2.JPG see what I mean? any one like my cheap clamps?

in the mean time, I started working on a EE3 blaster. again scratch built. unless one of you guys wants to give me a free sidewinder kit? haha! I forget the guys exact name but he is on TDH and he created a scratch built EE3. so im using his design and materials to use for mine. photo 3.JPGphoto 4.JPGphoto 4.JPG

photo.JPGforgive me for he spelling errors and the sideways pictures. this old PC just loves trolling me! anway I ended up making the colours with acrylic pens. to me this allows a much easier and finer control with the amount of paint.

OF course the painting is not over! their are still plenty of mistakes and tune ups to make before I can call it fully complete. does anybody have advice for the a Sintra/PVC EE3 blaster.im concered the weight of the wooden stock and pvc might damage the sintra, even if I have 6 (3mm) layers.
