Trooping for TFA

Nope. Stupid theatres dont' allow masks, helmets or weapon. No Boba for me (although i'll actually be much more comfortable).

Going as Boba tomorrow for the first and last screening of the day and greeting everyone in between. Also got tickets for Friday, but not sure if I'm dressing up for that yet; it depends if I get more friends dressing up.

Trooped as Fett for the midnight release here in Melbourne! As you guys will notice no one has a blaster....

No face masks, helmets, or anything resembling weapons, including light sabers at the Canton MI Goodrich theatre. I guess it is a pacifist jedi for me.

The teenager I talked to on the phone and I got a good laugh about light sabers not being allowed. At first I thought it might be because they light up and make noise, but his instructions had a completely different section about light-up-noise-makers, therefore implying it was under the category of "resembling a weapon".

Our garrison is quite large (was the 7th largest in world before we finally had a new chapter spin off of 25 members). We have a ton of TFA trooping events scheduled and turned away a whole bunch due to those silly restrictions. It's one thing to restrict customers...another to restrict people promoting your movie you directly admit. I gotta love Disney doing the premier red carpet event with 10 first order troopers with blasters drawn walking down the red carpet. Definition of hypocrisy.

I'll take some Jabba critter fritters and a Tatooine Sunset, please. Hell, make it a double-sun!!

And all I got was a frisking by the movie manager because I looked like I could be carrying a plastic fake gun. GMAFB! Next year, I'm going someplace else because E'ville, Indiana sucks with having a Star Wars Spirit.

(Well, okay I did get a couple of free passes to see a movie, but that was given to my baby-sitter for the evening to thank her for watching my kids.)

Disney AMC did a special screening for Wounded Warriors and invited us to troop it. I went as Fett along with a couple TFA troopers, Vader, and some jawas. Everyone had a great time.

The Alamo Drafthouse did a bang up job for the premiere. It was well done and a fun troop. Wish I had some pics, there tons taken but I didn't have any.

Our theatres were quite adamant before the release to not come with face masks, makeup or props. We of course abided by their rules (reluctantly) to not make a scene and get our garrison in trouble...and what do you suppose happens? Lots of people show up in costume and security does nothing.

Just got back from a troop for the Children's Wish Foundation....

A young man at our city's Childrens' Hospital wanted to see the new movie, so the theatre gave him a private screening complete with a red carpet entrance and an escort with this motley crew!

The worst of the bunch sharing sinister plans...

A shout-out to Nomisha, who is visiting from the Australian Garrison. She's trooping as Juno Eclipse with us!

And I STILL haven't seen the movie!!
