Seeking input before molding ROTJ gauntlets

Spectacular work!

In case I missed it, will you be posting a separate thread to sell them in the Cargo Hold? I'm curious what the final price will be?

Initially this was only a personal project for my son's suit, and unfortunately I have very little free time these days. I'm currently in the middle of two full Jango builds, need to begin molding a jetpack master for a fellow member, finalizing and then need to begin molding a Jawa blaster master for my daughter's costume, and completing a couple of other smaller Jango and Bo Katan orders...And that's on top of regular work and parental duties which include the start of my daughter's club volleyball season which runs until early June with sporadic weekend tournaments. [emoji29] So yea, I'm kind of hesitant to post a sale thread because the price and timeframe would have to reflect my already demanding schedule.
If I did offer them it would have to be on a limited basis to people who could be very patient, and the gelcoat fiberglass kit price would have to be comparable at the least to the awesome fiberglass gauntlets already offered by a great prop maker. Cc fiberglass versions would be even more. [emoji53]

Thanks for the kind words guys. They're pretty much done except for that little protruding thing above the darts. Anyone know if it's a found piece I can purchase to keep from scratch building?

This is beautiful Cruzer. This is how I imagined for someone to update the Boba Guants. I rather have this closure then screen accurate. Plus this version is better for troopring. I'm gonna need a set to covert to Prepro gaunts. Would you be able to do a partial guantlet? no need for the flametrower and extra greeblie stuff on the right guantlet.

I literally had to walk away from this project for 2 months in order to consider the best ways to separate the shells when dealing with fiberglass casts. The only other option I could think of that might have been better was an overlapping bottom shell on the left gauntlet on the side with the recessed boxes. But then dilemmas like controlling the fiberglass thickness and possible warping later might have become issues.

Either way. These are some great gaunts. Since I'm more of a costumer then a replica prop maker, I truly love this idea for costuming. Let me know when you'r ready for a set. I'll email exactly what I need. No cold cast needed. :D

Thanks cruzer!

I'm toying with the idea of offering one kit per month until June, and then doing a small run the beginning of June.

Sounds good Cruze - Put me down on your list for June and get your complete orders now. Then we'll do my partial one in June.

Thanks man!

That's ultimately what I decided too: troop-ability over complete screen accuracy. So I tried to find acceptable compromises in the whole design of the gauntlets that made them more trooping friendly.

Well my 18 year old son wanted to earn some $ for this upcoming V-day because he has a girlfriend. He's been helping me on and off for the past 2-3 years mostly on kids parts and gelcoat armor. So this past weekend I put him to work casting some gelcoat gauntlet shells. Seems I may have some competition at home... [emoji106]

Did some practice casts with the new greeblie molds and some tinted resin to match the gelcoat shells...
