I got one!

So I finally ran across the Target deluxe Fett helmet today, the last one on the shelf so I grabbed it up. Easy to take apart, very decent shape, maybe not 100% screen accurate compared to some of the excellent vendors here, but not bad at all for $30. Here are some side by sides with my current (mystery ebay kit) helmet. The size is comparable. Like others have stated the range finder is way too short and the visor is crystal clear. Ive already pulled it apart (very easy, its all snap together) and started sanding in prep for the repaint. I really like being able to work on each separate area one piece at a time, and not have to deal with maneuvering the whole helmet at one time. Ill post progress pics as it comes along. Ive wanted to repaint my helmet for some time now, this will provide an excellent budget build. Stay tuned.

For the price, and basic over all shape this isnt a bad piece to play with, better than many of the other "toys" they put out for mass market. Any how, here's the latest progress.

I wouldn't call it amazing. Though, I might just be too spoiled by the quality and accuracy of our crafters here on TDH.

It may not be the best accurate "Boba Fett" helmet for those hung up accuracy, but it sure will rock for any kind of Mandalorian costume or someone who is not hung up the accuracy.
I've had the best in the past, MSH, MSH2, Mystery, and this piece is pretty darn good for the price..

And here's this weekends results, still need to add some of the finer details, but not half bad if I do say so myself.

Thanks, it'll be a few days before more progress, my printer is out of ink, will have to wait till payday to print out more stencils.

Aye for $30 it's definitely not half bad. The shape of it is definitely better than some of the more expensive commercially available ones and with a repaint it'll look quite alright.

Making nice progress on this :)

Man, it's good you picked one up. They've discontinued these helmets, so what's out there is out there, no more.

You know I just realized something, this helmet is not new. I don't know if anyone else has noticed but this is the exact same helmet that they sell with the Boba Fett Supreme Edition Costume. The only difference is that there are no red lights on the rangefinder.

Here's an update of this weekends progress, got most of the major damage put on the dome. Saving the kill stripes and little detail scratches for later, enjoy!

some better side shots, yes I know the cheeks are a different color, I've already repainted them so they match the dome.
