Flak vest weathering/color question

I'm wondering if others here tint their flak vests. Mine is very white and I was thinking of giving it a very light dye of grey. Could be dangerous. It just seems too white compared to the rest of the costume. Opinions and suggestions welcome!

No, it's homemade, White cotton.

I was going to say that the MoW vest won't take dye well, but if it's homemade and cotton, that could work.

Don't dye it, just weather it. I weathered mine rather heavy but I think that is the only way for it to not stand out too much.

Even with the heavy weathering it still looks shiny in some pics.
