I generally like to stay out of these things. Not my way to get involved in things that don't concern me. But I don't get on the boards nearly as much as i'd like these days. And when I do, and read through threads such as this, or the thread about Rick, it's sad and all a bit of a mess.
This isn't just directed at Chris. The only real dealings I had with him, he seemed like a good guy. And some of the turns the guys lives have taken have been crappy, and I wish them all the best in that regard.
But the people with serious delay issues also seem legit, and may have their own life stressors happening. I understand that some will want to defend their friends position, but when people are spending a considerable amount of money, and have had wait times in the years with nothing to show, any human would be frustrated and quite frankly, a little pissed.
I've been in the very fortunate position of several people liking my work enough to enquire about commissions. Unfortunately these days, running my own business has me having to invest a considerable amount of time with my athletes, leaving very little time for my Fett-activities. So instead of taking these commissions on, and not being able to deliver a realistic time frame, or a job that may compromise quality, I would rather be up front and not take the job on. In my opinion, a simple idea that some of the vendors in question may have been better taking.
All I can hope for is that things turn for the positive for everyone involved. Fingers and toes crossed for all, as this is an amazing community to be a part of.
Much love gang, JV
