Best armour material in UK?

Anyone know the best material to make the armour that's available in the UK? I've looked at various threads about the subject but all seemed to be based on stuff available in the US.

On a similar subject, is there any reason I can't make the armour from thin aluminium plate? Any help would be awesome

RS propmasters would be your best bet as they are based in the UK , manchester . Bobamaker also offers armour and is an ex pat who lives in Portugal.
Aluminium has been used by other members bout remember to add the return edge which is a must for approval.
