Hello friends!
I joined up in 2007 and was JUST getting starting on a Boba Fett costume when my mother died. I lost the drive and set the project aside. Then, I started like 90 other projects...hahaha I need to get it together and get some advice from you all.
We had an AMAZING and fun 501st Make A Wish Fundraiser yesterday and about 10 members of the Arkansas and Memphis 501st came out to help. I coordinated the entire Fundraiser and called the 501st to ask for help. The entire event really LIT up my love of Star Wars again, and I spent a lot of time talking to the other 501st members about what costume I should do.
And of course, there really is no other choice. I have to make a Boba Fett costume. haha The coolest character in the entire Star Wars canon, as you all know is Jar Jar Binks. hahah KIDDING! Boba Fett is simply the best character ever created for Star Wars.
So, unlike what some people may do, I am only interested in having the costume for charity events. I really don't have time to hit the conventions and such. My costume will strictly be for charity events like Make-A-Wish Fundraisers, St. Jude, Children's Hospital, and such. I figure there are others out there like me, who LIVE for helping sick children!
I am a member over on the Replica Prop Forum, so I will be asking for a bit of advice on starting my suit. Since I work about 65 to 70 hours a week (no joke) at my two jobs, I will have to "obtain" the costume parts and pieces from other people here and on the RPF. I can't wait to start sharing photos of all the charity events with you all.
I only have 4 months to start and complete the costume. Because in February 2009 we have our next Make-A-Wish Fundraiser for a sick child. I want to be OFFICIALLY a member of the 501st Arkansas garrison, and want to wear my Boba Fett costume to cheer up sick and dying children!
Thanks again for having me!
God Bless,
---Chuck
