UPDATED PRINTABLE JANGO ARMOR TEMPLATES

    Hello,

Well, I finally finished converting my Jango Fett Armor CAD files into standard GIF images. What a bear, there are over 120 sheets that make up the various sizes I thought I never get through them all. Also if your and X-Large the Boba Fett X-Large templates are now also online as well. These, like Boba’s will print out on standard 8 ½” X 11” paper except for a few of the X-Large sheets. They come in four basic sizes, and I have included scaling factors to cover folks from 5’3” to 6’3”. For those over 6’3” you can use the X-Large templates with scaling factors of over 200%, but you will have to print out the templates out on additional sheets.

Each Zip file contains 31 files. The armor files consist of 29 8 ½” X 11” pages and 1 layout drawing, some of the armor pieces have to be printed out on multiple sheets and then spliced together. I have included witness marks on these sheets to facilitate matching up the pieces. These files are nearly 1.5 MB each, so in an effort to conserve bandwidth these files are not full size they will need to be printed at 200% or you can use the “Fit To Page” print option. The one issue with the X-Large templates is that there are 6 sheets that require legal size (8.5” X 14”) paper. So you will have to set up your printer to handle legal size.

The 31st file is a printer test page that contains a 5” scale in both the horizontal and vertical, I’d recommend printing this page before attempting to print the templates to verify that your printer will not distort them. Just print it out and measure both scales they should equal 5” each, if not then check your printer options please contact me if you have problem and I’ll see what I can do.

One other thing I should point out is that these templates are based on idealized human proportions, unfortunately in reality there is no such thing, but with the variety of sizes you should be able to mix and match the various pieces to make a custom fit. Myself for example, I’m 5’11” and I will need to use the X-Large upper body armor and medium for the legs. So don’t be afraid to experiment with the various sizes to achieve the prefect fit. Again if you have any questions please let me know and I help try to work them out.

My bandwidth is limited and it won’t take long to exceed it, please be patient these templates will be online for some time. If there is anyone out there that would like to host the Boba and Jango Armor files please let me know as I am maxed out.

If you have any questions or comments please let me know.

P.S. I am still working on the templates for the knee armor and gauntlets for both Boba and Jango and the arena jet pack.

    Just an idea...

You could try setting up a free website at www.freewebs.com which would allow you to host the files out of your personal space. There is a transfer limit of 100mb per month but that should not be to much of a problem.

I tried to set up a Freewebs site, they have a number of restriction and file size limitations. Some of the restrictions apparently are removed after a week. We'll have to wait and see.

    WizardofFlight! My friend!

You have one-upped even the "Sniffer" himself with your precision. Everyone has a different body type and you have included most on a broad spectrum! Good job my friend!

This thread has a great cod build up. The technique should work very well with these templates also.

Re: UPDATED PRINTABLE JANGO ARMOR TEMPLATES

I made a cod of the templates. Made it out of paper and taped the curved edge around. Cut the curved edge off and transfered it to plastic. CA glued the plastic top to the curved piece and used body filler on the edge. Got the raised portion by countersinking a pop rivet on the raised piece and spacing it off the base with a couple of small pieces of plastic. Body filler on those edges and it's all done. Hope it helps

Re: UPDATED PRINTABLE JANGO ARMOR TEMPLATES

These are working out great for me so far. Thanks for making them. But I'm stuck on the back armor plate. I know it's different than Boba's with the curve and all but I've never actually seen jango's. What does the curve look like? Is it concave? If so then how deep? I did a search and all I've come up with is that it's different.

Re: UPDATED PRINTABLE JANGO ARMOR TEMPLATES

knee armor is missing from the templates.

    Any updates lately WOF?

Do you have the flat layouts done yet for the gauntlets? even if you have the measurements laid out it would be a start!

Metal takes longer to layout than fiuberglass! But it last longer!

i tried the fit to page option, but they came out too small (i used the medium templates), so i tried the large templates, but they printed out the same size as the medium ones. i couldn't find anything that said i could print at 200%. please can anybody help?

    thanks
