nice work asok ,as an ex fabricator myself ,we used to use the main primary colour resins for the mold ,then later fiberglass afterwards as this saves time and money in the long haul ..just a though ,anyways great job my friend keep it up .
Ya! I got my Jango helmet in the mail today! I'm excited to get to work on the CC surface. I've worked heavily in molding and casting but have never CC'ed anything. This should be a lot of fun!
Good question. The real RF was metal. The only copy that I had was resin. I then took the resin copy and used a laser scanner to scan it into CAD and then it was cleaned up. Make sense?
I made sure that the RF fits tight in the ear. No glue at all. Mine it in there tight enough that when I turn the helmet upside down it does not fall out. Then when I need to pack up my helmet, it just pulls out. I do not worry about it breaking in the armor case.
I drilled 2 very small holes in the bottom of the RF stalk. Then matched those holes up with the RF and started 2 small holes. The screws where just a tad larger than the holes.
I am hoping to be taking some nice photos of the real thing this weekend and will try to make sure I get some of how to attach it.
