The. Worst. Movie. Ever. Made. - SPOILERS

I was gonna ask about the soundtrack. After all Johnny Williams' music is a HUGE part of the experience. I was less than thrilled with the soundtrack to the SW prequil movies, although there were a few pieces that stood out... Duel of the Fates, for example. But I think the prequil relied too heavily on the strength of that theme, and was a little weak in others. Of course, all the original themes from the OT will always RULE! Anyway, I was wondering what the flavor of KotCS' music was like. I assume "thrill button" (the main march) is still there, but did anyone pick out any of the well-known other themes from the original Indy movies? And were the new themes as awesome?

Two other themes from the original stood out in my mind, and that was Marion's theme from Raiders, and the main theme from The Last Crusade (which frankly, I thought shouldn't have been used at all).

Hey, I also like Maximum Overdrive (I guess it's it also helps if you like AC/DC)!
I got to check to see if it's on DVD.
Darren

BTW, I saw Indy 4 today. I liked it, I had a good time.

I saw Knigdom of the Crystal Skull today, and I really enjoyed it. Even my mum, and she's real picky about movies. It was quite far from being 'the worst movie ever made', I can't imagine what you'd call 'the best movie ever made'. The last movie I saw before KotCS was Alien vs Predator Requiem, now THAT was a craptastic movie.
And as for the "Alien non-sense", ancient Native Americans worshipped people from the sky that some believe may be extra terrestrial beings. Go watch Indiana Jones and the Ultimate Quest on the History Channel.

I watched avpR and to be quite honest it was to dark fo rme to tell what if anything was going on.

I liked AVP thou. Iam not a big aliens fan.

Putting in my two-cents on the original Indy music--my favorite piece has to be the map room from Raiders. Very powerful music!

I'll put in a vote for Epic Movie as one of the very worst ever made.
HEY!!!!
I'm IN Epic Movie

Slave1pilot, you're positioned in the exact same camera spot in that still as the stormie in ANH who whacks his head on the door. LOL J/K Cool that you're in the movie. I gotta admit, I've never seen it, but, still...

Murphoid, I too love that theme from Last Crusade. Are you telling me they used it in KotCS? I don't know why they would do that. :/

Phantomfett, the map room theme is definately one of the most powerful pieces of music in all the Indy movies, if not ever! (remember, I said "one of" not "the most") In fact, when the time comes to have my Indy display set up (just ordered a whip actually) I will center it on that particular scene. I'm in the process of making a replica of the headpiece. Don't know yet if I'll stand it on a staff or not... depends on where I manage to find a place to display it.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeesh guys... some of us can't get out on the first night! :facepalm

I'm adding a Spoilers to the title.

I can't agree more!
Please note when there are going to be spoilers in a post. Maybe come up with a generic title like... My thoughts on Indy 4.

On Friday I was checking the daily posts and saw this thread's title. I was a little disappointed that someone would title a post "the worst movie ever made". I knew exactly what was going to be discussed, so I ignored it.

Unfortunately I couldn't get out to see the movie on its opening night. For months I have been deliberately avoiding the media's opinions and reviews regarding this film. I kind of wanted to have a chance to see it without outsiders opinions.

After only reading the thread title I went into the movie expecting a really big stinker, but I have to admit I really enjoyed the movie! It was a "FUN" film. I sat back and enjoyed the ride... I think saying it was "The worst movie ever made" is a bit harsh.

But then again opinions are like people's backsides... everyone has one and everyone else's stinks!:D

not sure if this is the right topic but i gotta say.......Indy 4 was one of the worst films ive ever seen........AvP r was a close second.......
hollywood should recruit some fresh ideas and directors as Spielberg and Lucas are either out with the fairies or slap bang on the capitalist gravy train knowing full well us fans will always want to watch films that are part of their initial franchise......as for AvP it was a bonafide rip off and a strict 90 minute rip of our money by the cinema and dvd corporations that dont care about our enjoyment....only their finanacial gain. gone are the days films were made for the fams.......sweeney Todd was the best and freshest film ive seen for man ya year....i just wish we could have something similiar in the sci fi genre...... not holding my breath though.

Gentlemen...and ladies (if there any here reading this; after all, this is Star Wars and though, there are some hotties into SW, they're still rare)...but I digress. Like someone quite a few posts back said, we were all in our early to late teens when we saw Raiders. Hearken back to those times when we loved watching the flying darts and rolling rocks and snakes....why did it have to snakes...but I digress.

Try this. Do yourselves a favor, and, when you go into a movie in the genre such as IJKotCS, leave your outer adult at the door and let the inner child, with popcorn and mega drink in hand, count the number rows up and down and number of seats across in order to find the EXACT center of the theater, and sit down for a good old fashion adventure movie that makes you cheer and and laugh and cry a tear of happiness at the end when you realize that it's over...for now. Whew.

Granted there are a few movies that are impossible to do this in, and I've heard a few of these mentioned...Maximum Overdrive, Starship troopers 2 (I just threw up a little, excuse me). However, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull made me do all of the things I just mentioned above and the inner child in me loved the HECK (I'd put the term I'd rather use, but I don't want to get a nastygram from Asok) out of it!

'nuff said.

dude........i can watch predator, star wars, raiders of the lost ark right this second and enjoy them like i did the first time i saw them. why? because they are damn fine films........im aware of who the films are made of. im just stating a point of view in as much as it belongs to me and me only......that point of view is Indiana Jones 4 is . overhyped, hollywood theft from those of us who love the originals.....alien skulls, roswell, swinging through the forest with friendly monkeys....... even a five yr old would wonder what the hell was going on when Spielberg churned this out.

That trailer is gaining "cult" status for how bad it is. A bunch of us saw it with the midnight showing of Prince Caspian., so at the midnight showing for KOTCS we had a sign that said we were waiting in line for the Chihuahua trailer.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua...ok....remember it is not nice to "bash" a film without have seen it ;)
Shirley ,there is some sort of deep meaningful good well motivation hiden somewhere in this movie that would bring us together as a peaceful society.....And I wont stop calling you Shirley :)

i think to be fair it should be worst movie to hit a THEATER.. direct to video doesn't count. I saw indy and i have to agree i was disapointed.:( I think its a good kids movie.. but doesnt hold up to 1-3..

I think alot of us, didnt realize harrision was sooo old.. and after watching the first 5 mins... indy wasnt the same standing there hunched over... or at least the directors did a horrible job pretraying his age. At least look at Balboa and John Rambo.. staloine still looked tough..

that'd be cause Stallone's on steroids. Ford obviously is not. and of course it doesn't hold up to 1-3, but it's still a good movie. With all the legends of aliens, aztecs, and area 51 I don't see how this could NOT involve Indiana Jones in some form. I am a christian, but I find it funny that you hate the alien story, but like the one that finds the holy grail that grants eternal life all from a journal written by Sean Connery.
