Gaunts almost done. I need to start work on a missile, which is going to be tough; since these gauntlets are resized for my skinny wrists, any regular sized rocket won't fit, so I'll have to make my own. Same goes for the darts. :/
The right gauntlet doesn't want to stay straight, it's very hinge heavy, so it's a bugger to photo. Hinges epoxied and the flamethrower unit is bolted on.
I've added electronics to the left gauntlet so here's a few pictures while the electronics are still on show. Going to have to seal it in with bottom panel. Essentially I have two 10mm LEDs in the flamethrower housing which is joined by a flashing red 5mm LED on the main housing, both being fed by a 9V battery. and separate switches. The flamethrower LEDs are super bright and I'm really pleased with how it looks.
I've also assembled the rangefinder fully, although unfortunately the circuit board in my topper took up too much space for me to create an accurate perspex lens. So while it's not quite as thin as the actual dimensions, I attempted to retain the basic shape as best I could (It's not currently permanently attached, I'll wait for the paint before I do that).
The plan for next time is to seal up the flamethrower unit, attach magnets to close the gauntlets and crack on with a pepakura rocket. Also going to be getting the visor finished soon, so I'll install that.
