bobamatt paints his 1st jetpack (MoW)
Hello all.
I just wanted to start this thread as a show-off and progress thread.
I received my MoW Jet Pack way back in October. Unfortunately, I was a little nervous about painting it myself. I didn't know if I could do it justice.
Well, I finally got the inspiration when Michelle (Mrs. Slave1pilot) called me Rambo.
Heck, if I can kick the dookie out of Brian Dennehy and David Caruso in under an hour and a half, I can tackle a flippin' ROTJ paint job. Am I right?
Well, I cleaned it up, had to use very little bondo and it sanded it down. Got right to work painting the rocket portion, as you can see in the pictures.
Here are some pictures from when I was test fitting it. This was the last thing I had to do before I could start painting. Thanks to fettswatcop for his help here.
Also, when test fitting, you MUST wear ALL of your gear. Even the boots.
It's just cooler that way.
Ok. Following slave1pilot's tutorials for Rattle can ROTJ paint jobs, seen HERE (I did some things in a different order and used a different red...), I was able to get a complete list of colors I needed.
Then I went gung-ho. Working off DarthMiller and the Gang's C4 Reference CD and some of Nate's previous jet packs (which are the print offs seen in the picture), I began.
Please keep in mind that NONE of this is airbrushed... I don't have an airbrush. Only rattlecans and acrylics for me.
Will make another post in a few minutes... stay tuned!
