Jet Pack Jet Pack Purge System

Halo 1

Well-Known Hunter
As it is the 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi this year, I thought I'd share what I did as a fun upgrade on my MLC ROTJ pack awhiles back. Yes, an MLC pack ;). Shows how old my build was...still, am glad that I can still wear [always a a good reason to stay in shape] my suit after all these years.

While the idea of an exhaust/thruster plume isn't new nowadays, it was a novel idea back then. I'll let the photos speak for themselves, in a nutshell, I went with a Fake Nitrous/CO2 Purge System, fabricated a touch switch for my left palm and run the wiring from the Jetpack interior thru my vest into my left gauntlet onto my palm.

The video taken was when it made it's debut and isn't the best, but as I will be suited up for the May the Fourth weekend 501st celebrations here, I'll get a better one taken. The burst seen is a 1 second test burst and with the 20oz tank I have, I can run longer bursts.

Enjoy!

Halo 1
That is pretty cool! I did something similar very recently and merely wanted to have smoke trailing out of my Jetpack's Thrusters as if I had just landed and it was post exhaust (JP from Boba Maker - still undergoing painting, obviously). But I gotta say, I do like at which the velocity of thrust emanates from your thrusters too!

Here's mine...

Hey Iron,

Very nice! Love the effect you're going for!

While the trust velocity is something, it kept popping off one of my thruster nozzles whenever I activated it, so much so that I had to epoxy it down. Lol!
