Yeah, the spike and holder are one piece.
Here is one fresh out of the mold before trimming:
The spike section is supposed to be the amber color.
For weathering, I stained them with shoe polish. Ya know how pics wash these details out sometimes

It fastens to the toe guard with screws and is easily replaced if ever lost. The plastic gets harder as it cures and since I screw it on when it's still pretty soft, it'll become even harder to unscrew.
I'm not completely sure about package deals but .... we'd have to see

These shins take a long time to make and the materials aren't cheap. The toe guards / spikes aren't too tough though.
