Want to Buy ROTJ or ESB Costume

Hi All,

I’ve been lurking on here for a while and never registered until now.

Been toying with the idea of making a ROTJ costume but just don’t have the time so hoped to buy one.

Missed a beauty on EBay and cannot find one anywhere near the same money or as good currently.

Ideally looking to spend no more than £1,500 ( be gentle on me ) for everything if possible.

I have a helmet already and a blaster so okay there.

If anyone wants to ship to the UK I’ll cover that too.

With that budget your best bet is keep an eye on the cargo hold for if someone wants to let something go cheap or get a Rubies Supreme costume.

Unfortunately, it's tough with a $1500 budget to get a super accurate costume for Boba Fett. It won't get you 501st approval obviously, but you can still make a decent Halloween costume with that budget in my opinion. With that being said, with a budget that strict I would invest the majority into the armor itself and buy everything else cheaper as you can always upgrade it later.

This is the parts list I would go with:

1. MinuteFett ESB Armor set (painted) - ~$1000 (Etsy)

2. Ebay/AliExpress boba fett costume - $150 (Specifically the one pictured below). Can be found from many vendors if you search "boba fett costume". You are only buying this for the decent flightsuit and flakvest. You could use the ammo belt and girth belt if needed as well.

I started with this costume before I really go into building my Fett. The costume by itself isn't good, but the flight suit and flakvest are very serviceable for the price, and I actually used them for quite a while until I finally purchased an upgraded one. All you need to do with the eBay costume is use a seam ripper to remove the leather armor pieces and then replace with MinuteFett's armor. Here is how mine looked early in the process using this flightsuit as a base:

3. Disney ESB Gauntlets - $40 (can be found on eBay or other sites)

4. Cheap "Chelsea Boots" off of amazon ~$30-40. Something like these but maybe with a thicker sole if you can find a pair:

This leaves you ~$250 to get odds and ends. You could use that to upgrade different parts mentioned above or put it towards a decent 3D printed Jetpack/gauntlets.

To attach the armor, buy ~50 count of clutchback pins on Amazon and some upgraded "pin keepers". Superglue the pins to the back of all of the armor pieces and attach to the flakvest.

I think that this would be a good base that you can slowly upgrade from, and will at least give you the "look" of Boba Fett in the meantime. In my opinion having good looking armor / helmet is the most important part if you are just looking to impress normal people that aren't obsessed with Boba Fett like we are on here!

Absolutely no shame at all in upgrading over time as you are able. Everyone here does that to whatever extent they can afford / have interest to.

A Boba Fett costume is like the old joke about seggs - “Hey, even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.”

Where are you located? I have a few odds and ends of spare parts.

335 for all yellow armor, (shoulders and knee armor) 625 for gauntlets with hoses. 1250 for jetpack. These are all assembled painted and weathered, and are of 501st quality. Bobamaker made the jetpack, gauntlets and shoulder and knee armor are from wasted fett. They were then all painted and weathered by ericksonprops ! 2210 total but I could go down to $2,025 for you if you are wanting all of it! You would pretty much just need some soft parts and the helmet/green armor at that point! If the jetpacks a little much i could do the gauntlets and yellow armor set for 900 total

Look's like a decent base as a starting point. I would ask about the sizing of the soft parts and maybe more photo's of the helmet.

I saw that, don’t think I can push to that sadly given the budget for everything else, great items and quality for sure, if I go with what I’ve seen I might pull the trigger on yours too as they are way better than the ones on that package I’ve seen.

I was gonna say also, azrok and dr toothache are totally right on their above comments as well! It definitely is awesome to go with a strategy to continue improving each thing at a time!! No rush to get a complete outfit all at once. Trust me my first fett outfit i wore at a con? It didnt matter if it wasnt all assembled , people absolutely love you haha. It was a great feeling being inside it!

If you did decide to go with mine you would have basically the best you could get of those specific things and wouldn't need to upgrade overtime for jetpack, gauntlets or the shoulder/knee armor.

But the nice thing like they are saying is that you can always upgrade later so you'd essentially be missing cloth parts the helmet and the green armor only at that point along with boots but if you found cheaper versions for just those things for now? You're outfit would still be absolutely killer and could probably get the rest to still add up to that 2-2500 range you were looking into for it. And eventually you could upgrade the cloth, *(which are usually cheaper than the armor) and the helmet and green armor. Not too much else would be expensive at that point, it'd be small things like wookie braids, the utility belts and knee pouch weapons which you can get on ebay for around 60-70 i think.

Is it a stay away do you think given his reputation? It looks good on the images and the guy that has it says good things.

There is also rubies helmet you could look into and potential shops to get the green armor! I could try to find the armor online I used to have back then I had bought, for you! Finding cheap cloth parts isn't too hard also. Boots are also available on ebay and they were actually pretty good! I ended up buying the boots off ebay then buying the metal parts for the boots and just screwing them on with the spikes also and they look wonderful. I've also worked with Azrok before in this thread! I could drop the bundle down to 1,780 for you.
